Overview

I currently work for Wayne Enterprises, a small retail company based in Houston that sells FR clothing and PPE to oil and energy businesses around the country. I have been employed by them for over five years now. Wayne Enterprises makes most of its sells through the use of custom B2B online stores that are tailored to customer's specifications. Being the only employee at my company that is proficient in computer programming means that I play a vital role in the development and maintenance of our online stores. Our customers have very specific requirements for their online stores, and to date, I can't remember an instance where I couldn't do something for a customer so their needs could be met. Please keep in mind that although my company sells FR clothing and PPE, businesses primarily use my company's services because of the buying experience that we offer, and a huge piece of that is the web stores that we provide to our customers. Business can usually purchase clothing and PPE directly from a manufacturer for much cheaper than we can sell it to them. However, our service standards and ability to meet customer demands more than makes up for the extra cost that a business will incur. My job actually isn't just specific to web development; I also handle other IT duties such as desktop support, server and PC maintenance, and server administrator duties, just to name a few (working for a small company basically means I'm doing multiple people's jobs). This page details out all of the areas that I have work experience in.

Web Development

I work with a small team of employees who develop and maintain both e-Commerce and informational websites for Wayne Enterprises. Along with a graphic designer and the marketing manager at my company, I helped develop a new corporate website for Wayne Enterprises located at Wayne-Ent.com. We've also created other informational websites such as WayneFR.com and WayneBootTruck.com. On top of that, I help maintain the e-Commerce web stores that my company uses to make the majority of their sells. Most the these web stores are B2B websites that all tailored to meet our customer's needs. I have written thousands of lines of code to make altercations to our web stores so that the needs of our customers can be met. In doing so, I've greatly aided Wayne Enterprises in acquiring new customers and keeping existing ones. I've also been teaching another employee the basics of coding so that employee can aid me in the maintenance of my companies's web stores. The programming languages that I use most often are HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (with jQuery), VB.NET, and SQL. All of the websites I work on professionally are built on Microsoft's .NET Framework.

Desktop Support

I work with another employee to provide on-site and over the phone desktop support to employees at four different locations. The types of issues we troubleshoot generally relate to the Windows operating system, Microsoft Office, and the ERP solution my company uses, Microsoft Dynamics GP. We also frequently troubleshoot issues related to printers, networking, and the Avaya VoiP phone system that my company uses. I have years of experience with upgrading, assembling, and repairing desktop computers.

Microsoft Dynamics GP

I have experience with troubleshooting Dynamics GP issues, installing GP, creating SmartLists using SmartList Builder, creating and modifying forms and reports using Report Writer, and creating and running integrations using Integration Manager. I have experience with GP 10, GP 2016, and GP 2018. I also have experience using SQL to access and manage data stored in GP SQL tables.

Computer Networking

I have experience running Cat-5 cable for installations, and terminating connections with RJ45s and keystone modules. I own my set of tools for cabling including a crimper and a wire cutter. I have experience configuring routers, WAPs, and other network devices. I also have experience troubleshooting networking issues on PCs and hand-held scanning devices.
